Hello,

I have been trying to run DVD V3 (12.2.3.0.0) on Windows 7 Pro 64bit laptop. The installation is successful, however, the application hangs. I have tried removing the following folders from user's "appdata/local/" folder. However, it still keeps on displaying "Preparing Oracle DVD for first time use....".

  • Data Visualization
  • DVDesktop
  • /temp/DVDesktop

Are there any logs that I can refer to to solve the issue? Or what is the solution for the above issue? What could be the issue?

    Thank you Adam.

    obis1-diagnostic.log displayed an error "[nQSError: 12010] Communication error connecting to remote end point: address = 127.0.0.1; port = 51796.". Corrected Windows hosts file (removed comment from 127.0.0.1) and the issue is resolved.

    However, does the Oracle DVD always use 127.0.0.1 IP address? Is there a way to change it (and is it recommended to use the same IP address [127.0.0.1])?

  • See the doc.  Info on running diagnostic_dump.cmd to collect the logs.

    > diagnostic_dump.cmd logs.zip

  • Yes, DV Desktop always uses the local loopback 127.0.0.1.  No opportunity to change this.
