DVD on Mac: missing features

Summary
DVD on Mac: missing features
Content
Hello everyone,
I'm using DVD on mac, which runs quite smoothly. Good job.
Except that I'm missing some features compared to the Windows DVD version:
- Connector Types: only 4 available: Applications, DB, Essbase and Talent
- Export functionality on the data elements is not present
- And perhaps others that we didn't noticed yet
Is this intended and should I better switch to the Windows version? Or is this temporary and will it line up with the Windows version in the next release(s)?
Thanks for any advice on this.

Hi Filip
There are differences between the DVD Windows & MacOS versions. I believe that the Windows version has all features. You could use DVD in a Windows VM on your Mac to get all features. The latest version of DVD also doesn't work on Mac OS high sierra by the way.

Thanks Adam for the feedback
At least now I have a better argument to answer to that kind of questions instead of my theories on the development of DVD.

Hello Joel,
Thx for the feedback.
Why the mac version then? Just as a teaser?
Do you the plans for this release for mac?

Maybe I can shed some light on this. The reason for the delay for High Sierra was a driver incompatibility. This particular issue should be resolved soon. The reason why we have less data sources is also down to the availability of data drivers. We are considering ways to improve this, but it might take some time.

Only Oracle knows the plans and reasons for the Mac release.
Of course being a tool to install on your local workstation/laptop they need to cover the 2 most used system (so I do not expect to see a linux version as I never heard of a business user using linux as it's main OS at work).
The thing being that DVD is highly based on OBIEE, and OBIEE always existed for linux, windows and unix, but never existed for Mac, so in that direction it requires more work and test. I see that as a reason for the delayed release on Mac, limited functionality and also incompatibility with last version of OS X.
If you really want to find out more you can always try to ask Oracle directly, but you will hardly get formal deadlines, plans etc.
