Import of several identically structured CSV files
Summary
Import of several identically structured CSV files
Content
Hi all,
I would like to create several data sets from CSV files in ODVD that share the same structure (same number of rows, same row naming, same row sequence etc.).
When importing the first file, I can define if the row is threaten as measure/attribute, the data type, aggregation etc. So after a while (about 50 rows later), the import looks good and I can create the data set.
When importing the second file, I have to redo the whole procedure again. This is quite annoying and time consuming.
Is there a way of saving and re-applying the meta information for CSV files?
Thanks!
Jan

Hi Jan,
Interesting that they all have exactly the same structure - why not just combine all the CSV's together into one? It'd be easy to add a column to each that says "Data SetX" to each of them and then load them up as one data set and you can then filter on the specific set you are interested in ( or several of them and compare results )?

Hi Mark,
for some situations this is really helpful, esp. if the data belongs to the same project etc. Then this approach (adding an identifier and combine the data in one data set) works very well.Unfortunately, I'm not allowed/able to mix the data between projects, and have to keep them separated (GDPR, sharing data with other people that are not allowed to see all the data, other policies...). So even if I can solve many situations by combining data, I still need to do the same import again and again.
Thanks!
