Hi Everyone,
I created a Data flows to remove a column (Concatenate) . After that I created a new project and all the measures have become alpha.
Data Source Excel File | After data flows |

I have seen the same behavior with a number of different steps in the Data Flows. It converts numeric values to text.

Hi - well if you would want the values to be measures straight out of the data flow, use the Aggregate function in the data flow and set aggregations on the columns that you want to be measures on output. This should resolve your problem. Aggregating a column usually outputs a measure rather than an attribute. Do the Aggregation in the final step before you save the data set.

Hi there! It seems to be changing all of your values to attributes. If you go to the data tab and select the newly created table, and "Edit" it, you can find the columns that should be measures and right click, you can very easily change the properties of them (including change data type) e.g.
Please let me know if this helps you, and if you have any further questions!

Yes, but that doesn't explain why it happens in the first place. What is causing numeric values to become text? No reason for that.

The Aggregate workaround will work, but we are going to treat it as an issue and resolve it in an upcoming release.
Thanks,
