Creating data sets in ODVD
Summary
Creating data sets in ODVD
Content
Hello all,
I'm using the Oracle Data Visualization Desktop (ODVD) version - 12.2.4.1.1-20180213062356
Lets say I have 2 tables A and B in an Oracle database which are joined by the a key named K.
When I create a new data set, I would like to import all the columns from tables A & B and ODVD should be able to join both the tables within the data set using K.
When creating the new data set, I try to import columns from table A first and then repeat the same for B, but this replaces all the columns which I imported from A. Hence apparently the tool is allowing me to create any data set by using only 1 table. In earlier versions of the tool this was not the case.
Could some one please let me know if I'm missing anything or is it a valid issue?
Thanks,
An ODVD enthusiast

Hi 364408,
Instead of using the visual query builder you can enter any valid SQL which can include the specific selection of columns and joins.
There was no change in this specific capability, but we are going to enhance the visual query builder later on this year.

Gabby
