Trying to enforce a password policy to our BI Publisher setup.

Content

Hi. We are trying to enforce a password policy on our BI Publisher implementation. We currently use the native BI Publisher Security and I believe this isn't possible and we will have to use the Fusion Weblogic model.

What we are trying to enforce is that users must have a certain pattern to their passwords. For example, 15 characters with three digits.

Could anybody point me to the correct resource/guide to tackle this specific problem. I was going through the Administrator guide and couldn't quite find what I was looking for in terms of Password Policies. Thanks.

So you're talking about one of the 11g or 12c releases and your security will be managed in WebLogic?

If this is so, then you won't be able to do it. The WLS-embedded LDAP doesn't support these functions which is hwy Oracle always suggests using a proper security provider like a bespoke LDAP or MSAD.

Thanks for your reply. We actually in the process of implementing Oracle OID/OUD which has this capability but we were wondering if we could implement this for the BI Reports right now.

If you have OID managing it then that's a different story and you can have OID as a security provider for your Fusion Middleware Security Realm
