Can you use a Repository Variable as the Default Parameter Value in BIP?

Hi all,

I have a parameter set up in BI Publisher which is p_year.

I want the default value to be the value of the repository variable rv_Year, as shown in the attached image.

However, when I try to save the DM, I am now seeing a "Failed to Save File" error. Is it possible to set the default of a BIP param to a repository variable?

    Carley - Is your Datasource set as OBIEE ? if yes then the VALUE("REPO_VARIABLE) should work  .

    Hi,

    Thanks for response! The datasource of the data sets is set to SQL Query. We have used VALUEOF("REPO_VARIABLE") within the actual data sets and this has worked, it just will not work as the default value for a parameter.
