Native connectivity to NoSQL vs via Big Data SQL?

Is there, or will there be any native connectivity to Oracle NoSQL database from OAC / Data Visualization?  I understand it is possible to access NoSQL via Big Data SQL, but was hoping native connection may be possible.

This needs to be expanded beyond reliance on ODBC connectivity e.g. REST API connection
