+1. This is the way to do it. Still interested in knowing the SA System way though...

Groups and User info can be accessed through SA System similar to what it used to be in 10g. Application roles can only be exported through WLST.

Apart from the fact that the 10g concepts of groups and users are deprecated....sure why not just pointless since groups don't control anything anymore and have only been kept for backwards compatibility.
