I absolutely agree that this is an important tool that we need to keep.  We often need to run a query over data that is not currently available via the OTBI subject areas.

I'm totally agree. This is a such useful feature, why to disable it?

This is one of the most useful features for analysing the data without having to create reports everytime to extract data. Another issue with BI Publisher is that creation of report is dependant on template size and user is restricted in extracting all the columns of the table with a large volume.

Absolutely agree. On top of the mentioned above, any analysis (incl. ones created from the Direct DB query) has more flexibility in data representation and manipulation then BIP layouts created upon data models.

Having a Direct Database query is a very useful feature in Oracle HCM, in spite of many thumbs up and recommendations to not remove it why is Oracle disabling this feature.

Definite thumbs up!! I was very disappointed when I heard the direct database access was being removed. What possible justification do Oracle have for tying their customer's hands in such a manner?
