Consumers need the ability to change chart types.

DV authors can easily toggle between chart types but consumers cannot. It would make it more compelling for consumers to be able to quickly and easily change their views!

On the classic side we have the column selector. This would be comparable on the DV side.

I agree consumer/viewer users should be able to change visualization types to see the same data in different ways.

Column selector use cases can be implemented using the new feature in OAC - Parameters.
Parameters is GA with OAC March 2023 update and for OAS customers is available with the annual 2023 update.
Parameters in DV allows you to implement the use cases for presentation variables in Classic BI.

We are planning to allow it, but we also want to enable the in-line drop zones at the same time to allow the consumer to 'fix' the grammar if needed.
