REST API to create a new dataset in OAC
I know there is an REST endpoint to Reload the data for an existing dataset. Is there an API or any other way to create a new dataset too?

There is an API, because that's what DV does use: an API. It simply isn't documented... Therefore it depends how badly you need/want it ;-)
Open your browser developer tool, looks at the network calls the UI generate and you easily see how you can automate and script things.
Documented? No. Supported? Not officially, but that's how the UI does it, therefore implicitly it is supported.
You just have to evaluate if the efforts and risks are worth the benefits you get from it.

Hi ,
Reload data for a dataset (Preview) is an preview feature. As per documentation , we don't have any API call for RESET dataset creation.

@SteveF-Oracle I guess, you didn’t get the essence of this query (I judge by your recommendation).
@DeepaliG-Oracle There are already plenty of Ideas for the same (rich Rest API, allowing manipulation of different DV objects, including data sets) see for example:

So you don’t have to create new one, you can vote for one of them.
As @Gianni Ceresa pointed, there is internal , very rich (in opposite to one which is public in OAC) REST API for DV used internally in product, the only drawback is that Oracle is not making it public, so the usage is not supported and is also not documented.
For this public REST API - this is according to me most overlooked area , new extensions are created very slowly, and the worst thing for us OAS customers is, that so far it is not even available in OAS (just OAC).

If you see the FY24 Roadmap link posted by Ben, you will find the following features in the upcoming release :
OAC Catalog API
OAC Connections API
Not sure if OAC Connections API will also include enriched APIs for Dataset Management, maybe PMs in this forum can comment on that.
