Disable Drag and Drop for Report Folders

We have had issues where a user by accidentally moved a report folder by dragging and dropping to another folder. As per user he never received a message or notification before it actually moved the folder.


We need to have the ability to disable drag and drop of report/report folders. Is there a privilege or a role using which we can control this.

    If the user isn't allowed to delete/create folders, the user will also not be able to move them.

    There isn't a permission just for drag & drop. But it's a bit like on their computer: users can drag & drop folders somewhere else. They should know that moving the mouse when a button is clicked isn't always a good idea...

    Hi Gianni - We have removed the create and delete permission for the user but they are able to drag and drop.

    This doesn't sound right...

    Technically the browser still allow the "drag & drop" interaction just because the code of the page has it, but if the user doesn't have the rights to move that folder, the folder should not move in the end.

    What version is that?

    And are you talking about the catalog page or something fully in BIP (you have a BIP tag in your question) ?

    Hi Gianni - Actually you are correct. Let me do some testing and update the results here if it does not work
