but i was getting some error so tried to manually upload it by following  the steps mentioned in thread:

https://shivabizint.wordpress.com/2012/05/06/manual-deployment-of-obiee-11g-rpd/

after uploading when i tried to restart all bi servers..error ocurred:

Supplementary information regarding operation: MANAGED_SERVER:bi_server1;FAILED_CONTACTING_MANAGED_SERVERS;Specified BI Managed Servers

Supplementary information regarding operation: BI_INSTANCE:coreapplication;FAILED_TO_START;Error in starting one or more components of BI Instance;

also i see that following sever is down since beginning:

If your BI_Server is not running then that's definitely the first problem to solve.

When you say it can't be started, how are you trying to start it? (from the Weblogic console?)

What get's logged when you try to start it? The log is in user_projects/domains/bifoundation_domain/servers/bi_server1/logs/bi_server1.log

    Hi,

you need to do a restart of the server, starting each component at a time and then check the logs for any errors.

    Refer http://obinsight.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/restarting-all-obiee-11g-domain.html

    thanks..

    it' throwing the following error:

Boot identity not valid; The user name and/or password from the boot identity file (boot.properties) is not valid. The boot identity may have been changed since the boot identity file was created. Please edit and update the boot identity file with the proper values of username and password. The first time the updated boot identity file is used to start the server, these new values are encrypted.

actually..i have rest the password by following the steps in the link:

    https://shivabizint.wordpress.com/2012/10/15/how-to-reset-the-lost-weblogic-admin-user-password/

    what additional changes are required??

It could no be additional changes that you required if you have the boot file problem its a good solution reset your password.

In the other hand you should follow up some considerations before upload your RPD file:

    1. First, check in the offline mode your RPD has a "consistency check" and there is no error in your RPD.

    2. Check the passwords (repository and user are the right),

    3. Check the version of your Admin Tool has a compatibilty with your OBIEE Server Version, thats all, if the answer its not, maybe you have to a downgrade

    Hope this helps you!

    Kind Regards,
