Ability to Copy Single Cell Value
Organization Name (Required - If you are an Oracle Partner, please provide the organization you are logging the idea on behalf of): Dropbox Inc
Description (Required): Users need the ability to copy a single cell value from the report viz., formats
Use Case and Business Need (Required): We currently don’t have an option to select a single cell value in a report format(Table/Pivot viz). As we need to query the transactions in ERP front end, this feature will really help us to copy/paste the data directly in the Oracle and save some time.

This is the number 1 complaint about OAC DV from my users. It's brought up daily.

Thanks for the comment. Wonder why this is not getting more votes if it is a common ask! Anyway, taking a look at what we can do and still have existing features like brushing and Keep Selected work correctly.

Another vote.
users expect to be able to copy the value to clipboard.
Suggestion: It could be implemented as
Right-click - Copy

Upvoted, it is desired feature.

I can't upvote anymore, but this would make such a huge difference for usability and matches the user's expectation of an option when highlighting data in most other online contexts.

@Bret Grinslade - Oracle Analytics-Oracle ,
Hello, any feedback on this? thanks.

As an alternative to this, there are two other enhancements that would make this better.
- You should build in single cell "keep selected" so you can put that one value up in the filters banner with a quick click. Also if that field is already in the banner, it should just update that one filter instead of adding a new one.
- Integrate with your ERP systems with drill through capabilities. Allow us to get down to an order or invoice level and then be able to click on that order or invoice and have it open up directly to that form in the ERP system. Then my users don't have a need to export or copy/paste anymore.

This is the number one complaint about DV from users of the tools I have created, I am losing users to other tools because this feature is not available. I agree with Branden Pavol that the following additions would also be immensely impactful:
- You should build in single cell "keep selected" so you can put that one value up in the filters banner with a quick click. Also if that field is already in the banner, it should just update that one filter instead of adding a new one.

+ 1 vote. This functionality has recently been brought up by our users as well. Instead of copying the entire row, they want to be able to copy data from a single cell.

This is such a common sense feature which should be there in any tool which displays data in tabular format. Wonder why is this taking so much of time

It is very general requirement which is badly needed by every one.

Adding my vote here. This feature needs more votes from users.

Just get rid of brushing if that is causing the limitation. I turned off brushing by default and no one even mentioned it was missing. People mention that copy/paste is missing every day.

I would like to know who is voting against this feature, I am sure it is less than the people who need it. This seems like a basic requirement of any website in 2024, in our view this should be a 'just do it'.

Sorry. I turned off brushing in "Settings", but i do not see any changes in workbooks.
Would you please explain how getting rid of brushing helps?
Thanks in advance!!

@Marcelo Finkielsztein the brushing, from my perspective, only adds the highlighting from one visualization to another visualization on the same page. You still get the same functionality when you turn on filtering on each viz. When I worked with the CEAL team about poor workbook query performance, their first recommendation was to turn off brushing. Brushing slows down workbook performance because it kicks off more queries behind the scenes for every click made. If I was given the option to sacrifice brushing for copy/paste, it's a "no brainer" for me.

Bret,
Hello, any feedback on this? thanks.
Note: I am repeating the very same question I had asked in July 2022
