Hi 3247122 (Is that your real name?)

I see from your posts and replies that you have maybe missed the point that Thomas is putting to you.  Your diagrams looks nothing like dimensional modelling, it looks like a pure relational database.  Just because you call a table a Fact table and have Dimension tables, it does not mean you are dimensional modelling.

Sorry to be harsh, but we want you to succeed, and cannot be done with that model.

The good news is that you do not need to throw it away and start again (Yet).  You can make use of Aliases and you could even (last resort) have a SQL statement for a physical table.  So, if time is short and you need results fast then work around the problem, but always come back and make it properly when you get time.

Without knowing the exact details of your tables, as a workaround you could look at getting D3 and D5 and CD into one 'Dimension'.  Make sure you get all levels sorted.

Finally, if you only have a few reports to build with the two sets of facts then I would build them in Advanced SQL.

    Good Luck

    Hi,

Below is a link that can be useful in integrating two subject areas using Advanced SQL. The SAs in the example (URL, below) are based on a single BMM but I have checked in my environment that it works even if the SAs are based on two different BMMs (screen shot, above - NOTE: It does not show the BMMs).
