Hi All,

I have an Answers report, which does not display desired output. The reason being that when I add a new hierarchical dimension, it is totalled up. Please refer to the attachment for details.

Anyone could provide me some pointers how to achieve the desired output.

Thanks,

Phong

Looks like your "Function" dimension has a granularity modeled in which changes the grain of the query. That's your issue, not necessarily the hierarchy: the actual logical dimension with its keys and level keys.

    Chris,

Thanks for the promptly response. The Funnction dimension is a ragged level-based hierarchy. The attached Model.docx illustrates how it has been modelled by our BI team. Could you cast your eyes to see if we have missed anything. What I found interesting is that the physical query does not include the lowest level (Function Exp Type). I'm not sure if this makes any differences since both of the summed-up costs have the same function and project's suggorate keys.

Note: Since I want to use the Function hierarchy as a prompt, I've marked 'Override wth prompt' for "Start with all members' in the Function's selection steps.

    Thanks,
