Log file modification when we submit the ESS job

Hi Team,
Is it possible to modify the log file generated by the custom ESS job.
Actual requirement is, when user submitted the ESS job from schedule process window,if ESS job went on error due to some issues in the report level,business wants a meaningful messages instead of system generated log information.
Please help on this.
