We are having a need to be able to embed richt text content directly into OAC reports. The embedding would need to have preserve the text format as it has been composed and formatted (eg. bullet points, fonts, paragraph changes etc.).

At the moment we have a workaround using plain html-forms or spreadsheet files, and composing datasets out of these. The downside is that the OAC dataset cleans any text formatting and the result is just plain text.

The solution would be a new embed element that could be used on reports. Or possibility to edit a single textarea directly on report without having to open the entire report on edit mode.

    You can paste in formatting in to the Text viz. Is that what you are referring too? If not, can you explain in more detail or post an example of the kind and source of the formatting you are looking for?

    @Bret Grinslade - Oracle Analytics-Oracle

    Thank you for your question. Perhaps I should open up a little bit the background of this case.

    We have a numerous amount of OAC reports that are based on Fusion data (ERP/EPM) combined with third party sources (eg. APEX solutions) and analysis text as well.

    This particular case consists of:

    1. In our city we have four different branches using this report, total of 27 different departments.
    2. The financial figures are pulled out from FDI.
    3. The report in hand, is reviewed on montly basis on all those departments (executive board).
    4. The figures need explanation analysis supporting the changes in figures.
    5. The analysis text is supplied by financial controllers (non-technical persons).
    6. What we have built so far, is one report, which is showing figures and text based on selected filters (branch, department, period).
    7. Those filters have been joined with this analysis text dataset as well.
    8. Since we do not want to have 27 different copies of one report, and an additional workload for report authors, we have built such an automation.
    9. Otherwise this works fine, but the text supplied is cleaned out, while read into dataset.

    This is the case, and we are seeking for a solution to add rich-text elements/source directly from external sources or FDI datasets.

    I hope this brought some clarification on our case.
