Ability to apply filter from viz to viz

Description

The current 'Use as Filter' option is filtering the entire canvas and there is no option to specify that the viz should only filter another viz in the same canvas.

Use Case and Business Need

Like in OBIEE we have 'is based on results of another analysis' filter option there should be a similiar option in DV.

This is indeed useful and I thought was already part of the 5.8. It was quite good to see the addition of the on filter canvas with this functionality (For those filters on canvas you can select which visuals will filtered and also which ones will filter the visual itself) and would be even better to have it on all visuals where the "Use as filter" is selected..

I agree. Use as filter can be more specific.

We built a whole new filtering system when we did on-canvas filters, which include the fine-tune capability (as well as the Canvas/Project filters). Use as Filter is the last remaining one which is slightly more complex. However, we are planning to bring it into the fold under the new system.

Can anyone explain how to create a filter that should be apply for both the canvas that I have in my work book.

Scenario

I have 2 canvas and it contains date column in both canvases.both canvas built from different data sets.

if I select any date that should be reflect on both the canvases
