    Answer ✓

Did you apply any patches after you installed OBIEE 12c?

Please make sure you apply the latest CPU patches for your OBIEE 12.2.1.4 installation as recommended in  Doc ID 2832967.2.

Navigate to "Business Intelligence (OBI)" tab. Make sure that you apply recommended patches for each component following  Critical Patch Update instructions for an Oracle Business Intelligence 12c (12.2.1.4) installation:

    Business Intelligence 12c (12.2.1.4):WebLogic Server 12.2.1.3

    Business Intelligence 12c (12.2.1.4):FMW Infrastructure 12.2.1.

    Business Intelligence 12c (12.2.1.4)

  • Logs tell you everything about why something doesn't work.

Start the usual checks: are the components started? What do their logs tell you?

All the logs are started and there is no issues stated in log file

  • Well, not saying you aren't right, but a HTTP-500 does generate logs because it's a server error, therefore it must exist somewhere in your logs and come from somewhere.

Apparently it is a fresh install of OBIEE 12c, starting from the beginning: is it installed on a supported/certified environment? Did the install go well without any warning or error? Are you accessing the right port and path for the page you expect to see?

I am seeing the same error on a clean install of OAS2024

  • Hi @User_XT7VC ,

Do you mind posting a new question for your problem?

You should also provide more details, starting from OS (and version) used, how you did perform the install, if it ever worked before or you always had the HTTP-500 and ideally also what is the root cause you can see in the log files.

The HTTP-500 is only a consequence of another issue, and doesn't mean much by itself.

    Thanks

I would be glad to but it is not letting me

  • @User_XT7VC , you mean that you can't open https://community.oracle.com/products/oracleanalytics/post/question/oac-oas ?

That isn't normal, what kind of error or message do you see on screen on that page (not ideal to "debug" the forum here, but if it doesn't let you ask a question it kind of kill the idea of a forum itself…).

this is afresh install tion and im facing the same error the installed version is OBI 12.2.1.4 and weblogic FMW is 12.2.1.3 and the compete error as below

Error 500 -- Internal Server Error

From RFC 2068 HyperText Transfer protocol - HTTP/1.1:

    10.5.1.500 Internal server Error

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.

  • Hi @User_EZAOS ,

Do you mind posting a new question for your issue? This is a old thread, and received an answer.

Also keep in mind that the error 500 you see is not the cause, it's just a visible consequence of an issue somewhere else. It doesn't mean anything and will not get you any valid answer other than random pointers to hundreds of possible causes.

You should look at your logs: what component didn't start, what is the reason by looking in the log file of that component and post those information. Also post your OS details as it's a fresh install. Post all that in a new question and I'm sure you will get some valid replies quickly. Thanks.
