Linked parameter for multiple departments not working correctly?

I have an overview page that looks at both ERP and PPM data. We need to have a department filter on this page so that our users can look at specific departments rather than the whole entity. I had an idea to create a parameter that binds the value of the department for the ERP department filter to the values in the PPM tiles. For some reason, when creating the parameter when I select from the dashboard filter it successfully works for all of the ERP tiles but the PPM tiles show $0. When I filter from the PPM the ERP tiles show $0. This doesn't make sense to me because the columns exactly match when exporting the data.

See here when ERP filter is chosen first it shows $0 for both PPM tiles

The strange thing is, the parameter just inputs a text field instead of selecting the matching biology department in the PPM filter field. I've checked to make sure Biology exactly matches between the two departments. Why doesn't the parameter selected the matching value and properly filter?

Here's a look at the parameter I bound to the department filters. The cost center description in the column is simply a list of department names from a dataset I created to ensure that the parameter is simply relating to the text of the selection rather than a specific column from either area.

    Hi @Caroline Blanchard,

This may be due to the grain of the data in these two subject areas. Which two are you trying to use together? Your browser's developer tools utility would show you the logical sql and may provide some clues.
