I'm exploring integration options between Oracle Analytics Cloud Data Visualization and on-premises Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and would appreciate insights on the following:
1. Direct OAC DV to HFM Connectivity: Can Oracle Analytics Cloud Data Visualization establish a live connection directly to HFM as a data source? Are there any native connectors or supported methods for this integration?
2. RPD-Based Integration Approach: Since direct semantic data modeling connections appear limited, is it feasible to:
- Build subject areas using the Repository Development (RPD) file as middleware
- Leverage these RPD-based subject areas within OAC DV for reporting and dashboard development
- Achieve live or near-real-time data access through this approach
3. Limitations and Considerations: For those who have implemented RPD-based solutions for HFM integration:
- What are the primary limitations or challenges encountered?
- Are there specific performance, security, or functionality constraints?
- How does this approach compare to other integration methods you've used?
Background Context: We understand that direct semantic data modeling connections from OAC to HFM may not be supported through standard connectors, hence exploring RPD as an intermediary solution.
