Excel File Upload Failed in OAC - unexpected error while processing this request, please try again

My team has been creating data sets through uploading excel tables in OAC for years now and all of a sudden we get file upload failed - unexpected error while processing this request. I cannot figure out what the issue is or what has changed. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

@User_H03AE Drill from Pivot table may change the column data type. That might cause the problem.

It's also possible that by doing a drill in a pivot your Excel file contains lot of "hidden" data that reference back to that action and therefore the data isn't really a simple table as you maybe see on screen.
If you manage to confirm the issue is always on a file you got by drilling into a pivot, you can then post an idea (
) to ask for OAC to support that kind of file. You can probably also confirm that by simply looking into the XLSX file directly (it's an archive containing lot of XML with the data etc. and some other files).

@User_H03AE Check the data type of columns. There is a possibility of change of column type in excel.
If your file size is big, total cell count also matters.
Also check headers with any special charactors.

Also check the Excel templates for anything unusual, including some hidden characters in cells. We had that problem a few years back

Thank you. Last night I discovered if I create the excel table from drilling into a pivot it doesn't work but if I pull the raw data and then create the table is will work. Very odd. Appreciate the feedback!

User_H03AE Was it Gianni's suggestion that helped you identify the issue with the excel file? If yes please mark his response as accepted answer so its clear what the issue is for other readers.
