Testing creating a VA (or I guess it's "DV" now) and wanted to share with another user - sent them the link with presentation mode view.  At first they couldn't access at all, so I moved the project from my user folders in the catalog to a shared folder, and allowed the user Read access.  Now the user gets a different error about the dataset doesn't exist (It was an uploaded Excel sheet).

Reading the documentation it mentions sharing the link in presentation mode and read-only, but offers no details on how to actually do it.  Is it not possible share a VA project?

Same way as embedding it into dashboards normally works just fine: Oracle Underground BI & Dataviz: Embedding Oracle DV Projects in BIEE Dashboards

And yes of course all artifacts must be stored in shared folders not user folders.

But for the data set there is no such option.  I found the permissions area for the data set by right clicking on the dataset and then select "Inspect".  There is a permissions tab.  I suspect this is where you would add users access to the dataset - however, it is not showing LDAP/external directory users, only local accounts.

Are you saying you have normally not had to do any of this to share a VA project?  Like I said, if I send out the VA link as is (yes, with presentation mode in the URL) other users cannot access.  They receive an error about the dataset missing (which I'm assuming is actually a permissions error).
