Support Isolated Semantic Layer Maintenance for Each Application
Currently, at Sicredi, to address the need for hierarchy inclusion in Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) report development, Oracle has directed us to use the semantic layer. However, we have multiple applications, and due to the tool's behavior, we need to publish all of them to the semantic layer simultaneously; otherwise, the last published application overwrites the others, which are then deleted. This interdependency behavior means that during maintenance of a single report from a specific application, we must perform full maintenance on the entire semantic layer, causing all our reports to be offline during this period.
Our suggestion is to allow publishing each application to the semantic layer individually, without impacting the other applications.

You can create distinct subject areas which allow different reporting areas to have different data inputs. Also - publishing a new set of subject areas (or an RPD) does not cause any down time. Queries are simply routed to the updated subject areas when the publishing is completed.
If you are having trouble designing this, please reach out to support. Call of our customers and applications such as Fusion with OTBI reporting publish Subject Areas for multiple applications.0
