OAS DV datasets resulting in extremely poor performance.

We noticed in the past number of weeks that any of our DV's in OAS (V7) built off datasets are performing very poorly. When we rebuild the DV direct from a subject area, all looks great. Is there a configuration or setting we need to adjust?
Initially all our DV's (dataset or subject area based) were performing well. This seems to be either an issue that has resulted over time OR a setting changed that we're not aware of.
Are we the only customers with this issue?!

Hi @Joanne Mc ,
Could you please share more details about the datasets which are not performing as expected? Are they based on a database connection? Are you mixing different sources (e.g. database, files, subject areas)? How many tables do they contain? Are BI Server and XSA cache enabled?
I'd highly recommend to enable usage tracking and use the data it collects to compare the physical queries generated by workbooks on datasets which are performing poorly with others based on subject areas.

Federico, thank you. It's a very simple setup.
The subject area solution is using a dbase connection. We're not mixing any sources. One of the datasets performing poorly is based on a very small excel sheet of less than 70 rows.
Yes cache is enabled.
