Description

Like any modern application which contains code, it will be great if the OAC catalog incorporates a Version control system like GIT, SVN, etc. At the moment if one author makes a change to a report inadvertently, there is no easy way to see past changes to a report.

I the current OAC version, if an Author changes something and saves a report, the owner of the report does not show who saved the report last. It updates the timestamp but not the owner. This loses traceability and control if there are multiple BI Authors who use the system in a Power User/Citizen Developer/ self-service manner.

@Benjamin Arnulf-Oracle This feature has been "Planned" since January 2024. Can we get an update on when this feature can be expected/where it is on the roadmap? Is this part of the planned "Unified Catalog" on the September 2025 roadmap?

@Benjamin Arnulf-Oracle Hi Ben, latest product roadmap from September 2025 is not very specific for this particular functionality. As pointed by @Patrick Koob , it could be part of "Unified Catalog" feature, but it is not clear. So having better idea, what "Unified Catalog" includes and what not (ands whether it covers also this Idea) is definitely something of great interest (since this "set of features" is in roadmap also kind of "sliding" in terms of schedule of implementation - if you look in history of product roadmaps). Could this be subject of some following zoom sessions (I think Bret Grinslade is the right person who should attend and explain it)? Thanks

OneCatalog will have DSS object (datasets, data flows, sequences, etc) stored in folders similar to Workbooks. It won't change the versioning story, so this idea is still a good idea to upvote.

But this Idea is in "Planned" status since January 2024 (as already pointed) and this is (I guess) pretty long time to be included into product roadmap , which does not seems so. It would be good to know, when this Idea is going to be implemented. Thanks Michal
