Issue: The uniqueidentifier data type is not supported in Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) for SQL Server as data Source . This limitation hinders our ability to view data and create workbooks/reports, impacting our ability to meet client needs. (This modified version)

Workaround: A short-term workaround was provided, by casting the uniqueidentifier with a known Datatypes like VARCHAR2. However, this workaround would not have been possible without data integration, as we would not have known the column names. (This modified version)

Request: We request to support the uniqueidentifier data type in OAC for SQL Server data Source. This request is crucial as it will prevent potential issues in the future and ensure that all SQL Server data Sources work seamlessly, including those where data integration is not an option. (The modified Version)

We are repeatedly hitting this error in connecting to SQL Servers. Without this, we have to move the data into our database where we just want to view the data in OAC.
