Hi Guys,

I installed OBIE12c Successfully, was able to login to all portal(analytics, em , console and publisher til yesterday).

Today morning when I tried to login with correct usernae and passowrd in analytics portal (http:<server:port>/analytics) its said "An invalid username or password was entered" I know that the passoword and username is 100% correct.

i am able to login to http:<server:port>\em and http:<server:port>\console with same username and password.

I tried createing new users in EM and added them to adminitratosr group but got same error.

I foloowed few post on forums but that did not help.

Please help.

    Things really rarely happen by itself. If your system was working yesterday and is not working today, it typically means that something has changed.

    What have you done to your system since it was working? Are all components up and running? Are there any errors in log files?

    PS. I'm not your boss to blame you, so the more you tell, the easier to help you.

    Are there any changes made recently to your system ? or any changes to your security system (authentication provider ? there might be possible reason that services not restarted properly after any updates in the system..please check all above ,Thanks

    I had this issue it was because of the dynamic ip, i was installed with dynamic ip and not hostname, it was a conflict of ips.

    well to be more specific with your issue you should share the log, I mean, here we can guest about different things, but the logs give us a clue.

    Lol.

    I am 101 % percent sure that I did not change anything .

    But I did give same username and password to other users may be they changed the password or entered wrong password repeatedly, not sure.

    But the fact that  I was able to log in to http://<server :port>/em and http://<server:port>/console says that there there was no change in weblogic account password .

    Day before everything was fine, next day I tried to login and got Invalid user error.

    So I came across this thread, https://mtalavera.wordpress.com/2012/03/11/cannot-log-into-obiee-with-correct-username-and-password/

    which was pretty much similar to my issue, but when I cheked the logs mentioned in above thread, it did not match mine(NO passowrd expired inlogs etc).

    I came across another thread which said to restart the some osm_ service which I did and that server did not start after that ., So I rebooted the entire server box.

    After restarting the server box , I was not able to open the portals analytics, em , console  etc.

    After reseacrhing more on www came to know that we need to start the services manually from command prompt as start.cmd, which I did , but that failed to start the AdminServer.

    After a lot of troubleshottig I decided to re-install the software .

    But I would really I like to understand what happened, why I was not allowed to login to analytics and was able to log in to EM and console.

    Hi Cesar,

    I had  already assigned STATIC IP to the Server .Server are meant to be run on STATIC IP , so I make sure that IP are static before install of any product on server.

    So may be its something else, do you know any other possible cause?

    I'm not saying it's your case, but as an example: if a user can't execute a mandatory init block during log in, he gets an error for /analytics but can connect easily to /em and /console.

    This kind of errors typically may be solved by inspecting log files.

    I know it isn't a scientific method, but I prefer to get an error and after that search for a *.log changed in the last 5 minutes. So I can be sure I'm not missing something important.

    But you can start with logs from $ORACLE_HOME/user_projects/domains/bi/servers/obis1/logs directory.

    Ok I havent' written in this thread so far since Andrew was taking care of it, but....read this. Do what's written in there (increase log etc) and thencome back with valid information:

    Got it.

    For now , I have re-installed everything and all is well untill now.

    This time I have created 2 admin users though.

    If I get the same behaviour again will post the logs if I am unbale to troubleshoot using them.
