New security model for Data Flows\ Datasets
Hi- I am creating a workbook using a data flow created dataset. while in development, the workbook, dataflow, and resulting dataset are all in the same folder. Now that I have to deploy the workbook to another folder, do I also need to bring the dataflow and dataset to that new folder as well? I'm still a little confused on how the new security model works. Thanks

Hi,
The security isn't based on the location of objects.
Therefore you can move the workbook to a different folder without moving anything else, and this will have no impact on your security.
The dataflow isn't very important, because it isn't something "others" have to access. For your dataset you have security on the dataset itself, you just need to make sure it is correct for your needs. The location of the dataset is also not important.
The unified catalog added to OAC some months ago let you place dataflows and datasets in catalog folders, this is just to simplify organization and management when you have a lot of objects. You can define some standards to make your life easier by placing dataflows and dataset near, or next, your workbook. But that is just for your own organization. The dataset still has its own security.
