not able to upload rpd from windows to linux

Hi ,
I'm not able to upload .rpd from windows to linux. When i tried to upload rpd using ./data-model-cmd.sh , I received error that "Operation Failed. An exception occured during execution, please check server logs".
I checked logs and in log file "Repository password is wrong" message exist. However , i can open .rpd using the password that i used upload operation.
Is it possible to upload rpd from windows system to linux system ?
Is there anyone who meet the same error or have any idea ?
Regards

Hi,
Your error seems to point password issue. Anyway, if you want to upload your RPD from your Windows client to the Linux server, take a look at this post:

Hi ,
i have test BI system on windows and have production BI system which installed on Linux.
I downloaded rpd from test system(windows). For example : rpd password that is downloaded from windows system "test123". I am able to open rpd using password "test123".
When i try to upload rpd to production system(linux) using "test123" password , no luck. I checked logs and found "Repository password is wrong". However , i am able to open rpd using same password while uploading. Maybe , it is bug.

So you are able to download and upload within your TEST and within your PROD. But you can't upload from TEST to PROD. Maybe it is some issue with cross platform...

Can you post us the BIEE version ( 122100 or 122110 ) and the content from the bi-lcm-rest.log from $ORACLE_HOME/user_projects/domains/bi/servers/bi_server1/logs
Thanks,
Madasamy

Hi,
from your log, I'm nowhere able to see the message stating "Pwd is wrong". Either you have not posted a complete log or this might be the old log. Please check.
For your reference, go through the below post for uploading and downloading a rpd in OBIEE 12c.

Hi ,
you're right there is no "Pwd is wrong" text in bi-lcm-rest.log now. But before when i tried to upload same rpd with same password, i am sure i received "Pwd is wrong" error message. I did not change anyting while uploading but now error message different.
Anyway , i tried 5 minutes before and bi-lcm-rest.log file content here :

FYI.
To download a repository:
./data-model-cmd.sh downloadrpd -O /home/oracle/share/obieerpd.rpd -SI ssi -U weblogic -P Welcome1
Upon running, it prompts to enter a password for this RPD file.
It doesn’t ask to confirm this, so make sure we know what we entered or else you’ll need to re- run the command to download it again!
Now we can FTP this (newly created file) to local system and open it in the Administrator tool. Once done with the changes we want, we can upload it using the below command line utility.
./data-model-cmd.sh uploadrpd -I /home/oracle/share/obieerpd_modified.rpd -SI ssi -U weblogic -P Welcome1
Where,
I - specifies the name of the repository that we want to upload.
Here, are prompted to enter the RPD password, the same one we entered when we downloaded it.
Now we get to know that we have saved our valuable time in “Activating the Changes” and restarting our favorite (!!) OPMN.
Here with 12C, we can directly use the newly uploaded repository without restart of any services. Happy enough?? Wait, there's something waiting for you. Somewhat new you can say.
let me tell you that we can’t FTP the uploaded RPD file from server or the default repository location and open it in the Administrator tool thinking that you now know the password..
Obviously we know it, we entered it when uploading it, right? No, it's wrong; it changes the password during the upload. This is Oracle’s Intelligence. ;-)
Please mark if helpfull.

did you opened the RPD in online mode & tried to save it using "Copy As" option?
