Will opening and making changes to an OBIEE 11.1.1.7 RPD with OBIEE 11.1.1.9 Admin Tool cause the version to change on the OBIEE 11.1.1.7 RPD?
Thanks,
Mark
Yes.
Opening and making changing it's fine, just do not save or your BI server will not start anymore ...
Never ever try to use mismatching server and Admin tool versions.
Yes, there are people who will tell you that there is a way to downgrade the RPD etc., but why to look for issues when you can have many admin tools of different versions running one next to each other on your workstation/laptop?
Last but not least: the admin tool can be downloaded from your OBIEE server, so if you don't have it just install it before to make changes.
Good to know! When we started with OBIEE 12c, our consultants told us it's OK to use newer versions of the Admin Tool because it's backward compatible.
Well, it's not completely wrong: as said you can open with a newer admin tool a older RPD, but you can't save it as the old version.
As soon as you save the RPD is "upgraded" to the Admin tool version.
So open yes, save no.

Good day, please kindly assist. We are creating a graph to calculate the number of assets per milestones. However, the planners have only populated assets for only one milestone from the list of milestones the customer wants to track. Which gives an incorrect view as the project moves past different milestones that it has…
I scheduled the report in OTBI and the agent was run successfully. However, I do not receive the report after the run in my inbox. The addresses are properly recorded, and the report is in an excel format and saved as a pivot table in otbi. What can be the cause?
Anyone has any idea why the OAC documentation on custom viz is not available now? I was able to access till last week - https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/paas/analytics-cloud/acsdv/build-package-extension.html. Does this mean OAC doesnt support custom viz or custom workbook extensions?
