Hi All,

I am implementing Write Back Feature in OBI 12c.

In Analysis, Table properties, when I check "Enable Write Back" Apply/Revert/Done buttons are not visible.

Able to enter/edit text but not able to apply changes as buttons are unavailable.

Various attempts have been made, but no luck.

Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

    Thanks cesar for the advise, Logical column was configured properly.

    I have re-checked permissions, Column and table properties at RPD and Analytics, still not able to view the Buttons.

    I think there is something with the new version of obiee 12c

    I tried with chrome and Safari and when you are in "Edit" mode the button dissapear,

    However if you already set up your writeback analysis object ( set up the template that you use in your custommessages path), to see the button just clic in the "open" button of your analysis object

    like this:

    The button are present:

    Check also the certification matrix in this link http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/fusion-middleware/documentation/fmw-1213certmatrix-2226694.xls ( client tab in the excel).

    I don't test it with  IE and the version OBIEE that I using is  OBIEE 12.2.1.2.0

    Thanks a ton for the reply.

    I believe there was a issue with reflection of RPD changes to Analytics.

    I have created a new table with same settings(Writeback), it worked for both new and existing.

    Meanwhile there was a server restart, so not sure what was the issue.

    Now the actual problem is, I am getting below error:

    "An error occurred while writing to the server. Please check to make sure you have entered appropriate values. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator"

    System:

    MS SQL server database

    Oracle Business Intelligence 12.2.1.0.0

    XML File:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>

    <WebMessageTables xmlns:sawm="com.siebel.analytics.web/message/v1">

    <WebMessageTable lang="en-us" system="WriteBack" table="Messages">

       <WebMessage name="WB_Test">

          <XML>

             <writeBack connectionPool="Connection Pool">

                <insert> </insert>

                <update>UPDATE WB SET COMMENTS='@{ce374fe936da06edc}' WHERE id=@{cf11242553a7dfdf3}</update>

    <postUpdate>COMMIT</postUpdate>

             </writeBack>

          </XML>

       </WebMessage>

    </WebMessageTable>

    </WebMessageTables>

    Currently, I have Admin rights and I strongly believe I have configured properly.

    I have tried various changes to XML file, but the problem still exists.

    It would be great if anyone could assist with the above issue.

    Thanks in advance.

    I face the same problem - and it's an error by Oracle BI. I think it comes with the new Alta UI.
    If you run this Answer in a Dashboard or if you use "Show as it looks in a Dashboard", then you will see the Buttons.

    I've opened a SR and the guy from the support says he cannot replicate even if I have exactly the same behavior in 5 different customer environments - I don't put any effort in this Oracle Support thing ...
