OBIEE 11g Performance Issue

Question

Hi,

We have a performance problem in obiee 11g. Yes, I know this is a very general definition of the problem but just try to start from one point to define it. The issue happens not all the time, but sometimes.

When I see the Session Manager, I see list of queries in running mode waiting in queue. Since, these are in queue any request coming later, is waiting many times to respond even it just executes in a few miliseconds in normal process. Where can I start to solve this problem?

@EmmanuelMash pointed you in the right direction (there are also slides and videos of rmoff's Silver Bullet presentation on performance).

I would just say to not limit yourself to log files, in your case I would also not underestimate the benefits to look at DMS metrics...

If you can also setup operational intelligence with something like Logly or Elasticsearch or sumologic, it will help you visualize upfront where your bottleneck is coming from.
