Thanks for your insights! I have a follow up question on your example. So by adding "Company Long Name", "Company Address" to the same level, what purposes do these attributes serve? We can only display one of the attributes to the users to use in Analysis, right?

In case anyone is interested. You CAN upload/download the RPD using the client workstation where the Admin Tool is installed. See this post here for more info: downloadrpd -S -N

Thanks Andrew for the tip! I tried it out and am getting an error. However, this is a bug for my version 12.2.1.0.0 as indicated by Oracle. https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/ui/km/DocumentDisplay.jspx?id=2083127.1&_adf.ctrl-state=exyufvepf_4&_afrLoop=2237… I will try the workaround!

For those interested, the Starter BAR file is not available in OBIEE 12.2.1.0.0 as pointed out in this KB. It maybe be available in future releases. OBIEE 12c : What Are The BI Archive (.BAR) Files And Are There Any Predefined Default BAR files Available? (Doc ID 2067513.1)

For those interested, the inline prompt max value can be increased by adding the MaxVisiblePages elements. The chart max value can be increased by adding the Charts and MaxVisibleColumns elements. This is for OBIEE 12c. Still, I agree with other folks here that you may want to adjust the requirements instead.

The Denied AuthUser privileges are out of the box, so I didn't mess with it. The "Access Administration Menu" in Home and Header category does not control the Administration link on header bar. That is actually controlled by "Access to Administration" in the Access category. Now it makes more sense.
-
OK, thanks for the clarification. So if I'm denied access to the Administration menu, why do I still see it in the header?
-
Yes, I logged an SR for this. Oracle support is looking into this. I'll reply once they have a solution.

Thanks for your insights Andrew! Yes, our database table is only about 20,000 records. We are not trying to display all these in the Analysis. It is good to know about the various settings we can add to the instanceconfig.xml file! Much appreciated!
-
Thank you for your insight. Yes, our table has about 20000 records, which I don't think is too much? Would you know if there's a maximum default record limit for OBIEE?
-
OK, thanks all for the knowledge!

We are using 12c. The instructions say to log into the server where OBIEE is installed to upload/download the repository. But since I don't have access to the server, I was wondering if there's another way (instead of waiting for the server admin).
-
Hm, it doesn't say where the Starter BAR file is located. If I have to do this manually, I just need to re-create the 2 missing roles and 2 mission policies? For each missing policies, just add the permissions as indicated in your article?
-
We followed the OBIEE 12c installation guides to install the application. We couldn't find any step to add lines to the web.xml file?
-
Hi, Can you tell me where the web.xml is located in?

This is what it says in admin server log. But it doesn't make sense to me! Messagejavax.el.ELException: Error Parsing: #{bundle-2020952193.LOG_MESSAGES}Supplemental Detailjavax.el.ELException: Error Parsing: #{bundle-2020952193.LOG_MESSAGES} at…
