Mike - I loved your video about embedding the OAC Assistant into APEX. This only highlights the amount of code that is still required. Can we get a native connector between OAC and APEX so we can make this a no-code experience?
-
Below is the link to the other idea. Especially based on the recent video about embedding the OAC Assistant, this highlights that you still need quite a bit of code to make this experience seamless. Where's the native connectivity?

Are the different contract levels all in the same column or are they separated into multiple columns? If you are able to mock up a sample scenario with fake data, that might help me better understand the request.
-
Are you using the RPD or Web Semantic Model (WSM) for this dataset? You should be able to create that hierarchy within the subject area model.

I have a suggestion for you despite my better judgement. You could consider using an "agent" (the classic version) and have the jobs scheduled to export and send to your email. The bigger question is, why are you exporting large amounts of data out of a reporting system? If you can determine why people are doing that, you…

I agree with this. I put in a related topic to add more details to the warehouse statistics. We need to see more details around what's going on in these pipelines. This black box approach causes a lot of confusion. Everything I mentioned in my request was all after the jobs completed. I like your addition so we can monitor…

This is amazing! I've been so frustrated and have been asking for this too! I'll have my team look at this and let you know how it goes. Thanks in advance!

@Luis E. Rivas -Oracle let me know if you would like to set up a meeting to show you how we are doing it today.

While I would be interested in this, the data is still only stored in the "cloud" storage and can't be used by writing SQL or anything else. So what we have done for these scenarios is used APEX to create the table. That gives the users the ability to add rows and change values on the fly, hit save, then it's saved to the…

Agreed. We're looking forward to seeing what value this can bring. Let us know when the link is fixed.

Wow. 300+ columns in one report is a lot. Are you sure an OAC report is the correct solution? I find it hard to believe they are able to do analytics on that. I tell all my analysts that if they need to scroll left and right, then we have failed at delivering a good visualization to our users. It sounds like they just want…

I would like to be able to create a timeline/gant view of when the overall pipeline starts and when each job completes. This would help us understand which jobs are running long and which ones are quick.
-
We're using the cloud version. Is there a way to change the status back?
-
Noted. Thank you.
-
That's a helpful workaround. I can do that in the meantime; however, if there's going to be an option to directly extend a dimension using the wizard, I need more control than I'm currently given.

If you're on the January release, it should already be there.

This is an example of the gap between FDI and OAC. In OAC, you can control this with the Permissions section in the Roles and Permissions in the console. You can remove the ability to create and edit datasets for the Author Role or even create your own custom role. I tried to find the equivalent to this in FDI and I don't…

Are you referring to something like this?

Related idea on the OAC side. https://community.oracle.com/products/oracleanalytics/discussion/23822/data-flow-caching-for-enhanced-performance?utm_source=community-search&utm_medium=organic-search&utm_term=data+flow

I agree with this. Even if we can get a tooltip in FDI on each column that explains the lineage by saying what the OTBI column name is.
