In addition to J's comment, Authors can choose to remove (or add) the Data Flow swim lane on their own home page. We do have plans to introduce alternative landing pages that will be configurable by an admin/owner regardless of the user role.

@Tim Vlamis the combination of the Data Quality insights in prep and the Auto Insights in workbooks is our replacements to the old insights feature. We will continue to enhance both with more capabilities.

The next update of OAS (early 2022) will include the features from OAC releases since 5.9 till the January 2022 update. Introducing variables into DV is an active project, but it is also a complex one. There is a dedicated team working on it, but time lines are still not clear as they are still mostly focused on cleaning hurdles. While we can clearly say that this feature is planned, it will take some time for us to provide an ETA.

We are changing Narrate to include all Canvases by default instead of starting empty. Not exactly what is being asked, but due to similar feedback where users usually wants to start with all and maybe hide/remove a few, we believe this upcoming change will work better for most cases. Multi-select is still a valid request.

OAC 6.0 introduced the ability to schedule the refresh of cached datasets. It will come to OAS in the next feature release.

It is not currently possible, but something that we will consider in the future.
