@Bret Grinslade - Oracle Analytics-Oracle Bret, Hello, any feedback on this? thanks. Note: I am repeating the very same question I had asked in July 2022

@Branden Pavol , Sorry. I turned off brushing in "Settings", but i do not see any changes in workbooks. Would you please explain how getting rid of brushing helps? Thanks in advance!! Marcelo

Just another one agreeing that this functionality is unsatisfactory. Low quality. I tried it and had to go back to the other mode.

@Jose Luis Alvarez Elbal-Oracle , have you considered using the Repository Merge utility? 1) Have one RPD where all the connection pools point at dev servers with dev credentials. 2) Prepare one RPD that contains only connection pools. these pools will point at prod servers with prod credentials. 3) Merge the repos, giving…

Hi @Federico Venturin , This answered my question. BTW, I (actually) was able to assign multiple objects to a role. THANK YOU!!! Marcelo (P.S.: I was trying to do this using the "Classic" OAC GUI. Did not check what would happen on the OAC-DV wbepages. D'oh. )

This is what i do: 1) Modify the Data Font to size=1 (you need to *type* the "1", it will not be on the list of values) 2) Modify the Data Font colors to white over white (#ffffff over #ffffff) 3) Modify the column Display Header from "Auto" to "Custom" and replace its default title by a "k". (to make it narrower) Results:…

Maybe better than defaulted, or additional to defaulted, we would like this to be a setting that we can customize and save, on a user by user basis. I find myself using the "Show All" option for filters almost all the time. I would appreciate if I could set this as MY default. I am working on OAC version "September 2023".…

In OAC, you can download a snapshot, expand it and obtain a list of all catalog objects (analyses, dashboards, prompts, etc). From the expanded catalog you can obtain the object name and its location. You can compare that full list against your results from querying the Usage Tracking tables. Note that your UT tables will…

Hello User_LYZD, Deeply agree with Michal's answer. He is right on the money, as usual !!! : ) WIth OAC, we lost the ability to query the catalog using Catalog Manager. Sad, and I wish Oracle would fix it. as a workaround ... Using the OAC console, you can take a "Snapshot" that includes "everything", then download it,…

I will appreciate if the alert/confirmation also can be configured in [System Settings] and [User Settings], as a switch on/off. i.e.: [User Setting] overrides [System Setting] Thanks. p.s.: i am afraid the alert might only bother "mature" users, while "uneducated" users will just go ahead and accept it, only to realize…

voted up. not only to provide a theme consistent with our enterprise standards but also as a way to provide a clearly different look&feel between DEV, TST, QA, PRD environments.

Similar experience. many of my users compare DV to Domo, Tableau, etc and get frustrated.

Hello Michal, I must emphasize I prefer to avoid the IF condition. i stopped stating "IF intention is to transfer", because the reply i received from Oracle long ago was "DV is not planned to be a replacement". and that was the end of the discussion. I actually prefer to put it as an UNconditional request. many of my users…

Question: is it currently possible to add a default Formatting for each Dataset field? e.g. Currency, sep by comma, round cents to int, prefix $, neg in red and between brackets. then a new workbook adopts these as a starting point for the column. if the workbook developer wants to change/override them, they can. thx! mf

I started with OAC a few years ago. During the first month, I detected this issue. back then, this was not documented as a product known characteristic. it was a bug. on our on premise instance this was working properly and did not need to be changed at all. the security and permission and ownership of an agent had the…

i respectfully disagree. i believe Oracle should fix the current permission error. instead of investing resources on this suggestion. By the way, you could implement your suggestion right away today as an alternative. if i understood correctly, your idea requires sharing passwords; this is considered bad practice in lots…

voted up. BTW, there are special fonts for people who have dyslexia. Being able to upload custom fonts is not only a "cosmetic" option, but part of an Accessibility Policy. marcelo finkielsztein

ah, then i will need to keep trying and/or waiting. when i tried to obtain a way to create a scripted API routine to create a bar without exposing passwords in plain text (!!) i failed. rgds marcelo

and have you seen Rest APIs working in OAS?
