that sounds much closer to the idea (saving a URL with the paremeters saved is pretty much a bookmark) do you have docs on the plan? cause i'm confused as to your "authors decision" comment

If we can't send someone a direct link to a report that includes all the filters/drills set as intended, then this idea isnt really being worked. A user who has to swap between different views of a workbook will not benefit from a form of caching the state either.
