I agree, it brings you simplicity (no need to deploy RPD on server, changes immediately propagated...), but it is redeemed with potential risks... We are looking with hope to new concept of Semantic Modeler (now launched in preview mode in July release of OAC, but since we are on-prem OAS customer, we will have to wait for…

@Alf Eirik Nordmo Modifying RPD in online mode has always been (since old times with on-premise predecessor - Siebel Analytics/OBIEE) considered as dangerous practice and strongly not recommended.

@Luis E. Rivas -Oracle Hi Luis, I just wanted to ask you, whether my specification is clear now and it is sufficient for you to evaluate it ? Thanks and regards Michal

@sivaraman-Oracle . If you check certification matrix for OAS correctly, you can see plus sign after version of PostgresSQL : 9.0+ - this means, that versions 9 and higher are certified. This is how it should be interpreted. But better to have it confirmed by somebody directly from Oracle.

@Luis E. Rivas -Oracle Hi Luis - back to your question: "Is your request for the workbook user to be able to change the default format only for the workbook they are working on? " Answer is: Yes, this is what we want - to allow author (with read-only permission to data set) to change format of date column just for the…
-
@Luis E. Rivas -Oracle You ale a little bit contradicting yourself in your statements, Luis. First you mentioned, that it should be possible to change/override default format of date columns in particular visualization in workbook (for authors with only read permission for data set) - similary as it possible for measures…
-
@Luis E. Rivas -Oracle - Luis, unfortunately you are only half right. Users, having only read permission on data set, can override formatting for measures on visualization - as you correctly pointed - in visualization properties on Values tab- pound icon (#). But the same does not pay for overriding default formatting on…

Thanks @Gianni Ceresa for your update - you always have information from right source :-). In this case Oracle should strive to make BVT (or similar tool) available for OAC/OAS. I am just wondering, why this Idea is completely without any attention from Product Development/Mgmt since its creation (year ago). When it comes…
-
Would be really useful - when you have complex expression in My Calculation and formatting/indentation is not kept, it is quite nightmare to modify/maintain...

This pays also when using data action in DV (which navigates you to other canvas with filter conditions applied)- there should be similar option as in "classical" UI (analytics), which allows you to easily return to previous "state" using either bredcrumbs or Back functionality within analytics UI. This is missing in DV…

I completely agree with the statement: "Both have big font and leaves more whitespace than e.g. Skyros/SkyrosCloud". We are having the same opinion and reactions from our business end users after upgrading to OAS 6.4 (where Redwood is the default style/skin). We don't want to (even though we have that opportunity, since we…
-
I think, this is another "use-case", which should be part of of long promised API for DV (which is, unfortunatelly still not available)- this API should allow you: 1) To identify data sets not used/referenced in any other "objects" (workbooks, data flows, analyses etc...) 2) To delete those identified data sets

This idea is "Under Oracle Review" for more than year and so far no progress/sign that this is going to be implemented. I guess, this should not be that difficult and it will help... Thanks
-
Any update from Product Development on this idea ? Thanks
-
Is anybody from development looking at this Idea ? There is no response and it would be good if somebody ket us know, how to check (from UI) the current version of OAS environment - since in 6.4 the information has disappeared.
-
Is anybody from development looking at this Idea ? It hase been created almost 2 yers ago and it it still in Submitted status. Thanks
-
@Avinash Krishnaram-Oracle Thanks for you comprehensive answer - this looks promising. Since we are OAS customer, we can expect (I guess) all those new features in yearly OAS release for 2023.
-
@JEnglish-Oracle - as its name reveals (My Folder), this folder has never been intended (since early days of the product, when its name has been Siebel Analytics - many folks will remember those days) for storing shared objects (analysis, dashboards, newly DV project) but for serving as a kind of "private area" with access…

@Marcelo Finkielsztein No, I haven't.... :-(

@SiddharthDang-Oracle . Ok, we went to same conclusion (unfortunately not good for us...). I know, that you can set presentation variable using Presentation variable prompt plugin from Analytics library (https://www.oracle.com/business-analytics/data-visualization/extensions/) - but this plugin is really "child toy" , it…
