In Home Directory I could see folder name like OAS550 , so I can guess the version as 5.5.0 One interesting this is that I could also see obi12214 (which seems to be OBIEE 12.2.1.4). Since I never requested OBIEE 12.2.1.4 installation, for a moment I assumed that this folder got created as part of OAS installation. Is it…

Are you sharing the snip from application deployments at EM? I went there and could not see modules and like you depicted
-
Thanks Chris , it helps!!! Just one last thing on this topic: I guess we can not see visual analyzer in Application Deployed (@EM) as we can see BI Publisher application? If yes then why? Is it not an separate application like Analytics and Visual Analyzer?
-
Hi Chris, I validates at OBIEE with below version: I am able to access VA with below URL for 12.2.1.3.0: http://localhost:9502/va/project.jsp?pageid=visualAnalyzer However not able to access DV for 12.2.1.3.0 (so it seems that DV was not available at least till 12.2.1.3.0 ) http://localhost:9502/dv/?pageid=home No If I go…

Hi Joel, Thanks for your help !!! Yes, I am able to access below URLs in OAS -5.5.0 http://meuqa:9502/dv/ui/home.jsp?pageid=home http://meuqa:9502/dv/?pageid=home So can I conclude that we will find VA till OBIEE12c and from OAS-5.5.0 onwards it is available in form of DV?

Let me check with concerned team who setup that environment, thanks for your input. If you don't mind, may I know what is the purpose of application policies and why those are required ?
-
Thanks Chris !!! Sure , Let me reach to Infaops team , who installed it to confirm if they have left out BIP. As I could not see BIP in deployed application, it seems to be likely reason. I went to application policies section at EM, and could not see any security policy for all 3 principal types - Application Role, Users…

I also verified Application Deployments at EM and could not see BI Publisher application in the list. Since I have not done this installation, I am not sure if there was option to ignore BI publisher app installation during installation. My assumption is that all these components should be available by default , post…

-
Hi Gianni, It is 12.2.1.4.0.
-
Yes, Version is 12c.
-
Hi Jianni, Just one more question please , related to this. If SSO option is enabled in security - then also I would be able to login to Analytics and XMLPserver URL using this newly created user bi_admin? Thanks,
-
Thanks Gianni, Now I am able to see all options with bi_admin user as well which were available with weblogic user (after adding the user to application role at EM).
-
Hi Gianni, Thanks for your help !!! yes you are correct. Application roles are different for both the users: Weblogic user is having additional application roles: for BI_ADMIN user: I am not sure how I can add these additional application roles for bi_admin user. I tried to see such roles at console , but in vain. Kindly…

Thanks Chris!!!, yes I agree that I should start with understanding basics first , in order to be able to ask right query. Hence I edited my OP accordingly. Please bear with me for any lack of experience in asking queries. Thanks,
-
Thanks Chris for sharing guidelines !!! I will surely go through it to.
-
Thanks Chris, then I can conclude that XMLPserver is nothing but BIP reporting and Analytics is BI answrs.
-
Thanks Chris !!! Kindly bear with me as I may end up with incorrect question (considering me new learner): Can I find some thing like this under Administration tab of analytics as well? I could not locate JDBC (or other connections under Analytics Administration). I could access XML server through below URL and could see…

Hi Chris, Thanks !!! Yes sure I will be more specific with my queries. My goal is to explore this OBI thoroughly (all deployed apps) to evaluate it. Regards
