Completely agree. Also can be useful to add in some way the "Logical SQL" to the session variables, much needed in calculated fields to customize/conditionalize reports.
-
Would be very useful. We have actually to do that through the creation of one test user for every role, but when the role structure gets more complex, it became cumbersome.
-
Cannot agree more. Also needed to shield final users from UI changes or control them (e.g. "quick search" buttons in DV home page). Any planned roadmap for this feature?
-
Hi Benjamin. I totally agree. Our customers also have this need, to avoid/control how UI changes between releases are delivered to the final users. For example, we've a strong request for removing the "quick search" buttons from the DV home page.

Sorry, Gabby, I had already attached a video, but I don't remember how and in the post I'm not able to find it. I've converted to GIF. let's see if it's visible now ...

Sorry, I tried now again after the last patch application to 105.6.0.102 (on OAC Classic) and now the main problem (not being able to resize a pivot column to the original size after shrinking) is gone, it's working. There are still some strange behaviors (I tried in the attached video on chrome): - a horizontal scrollbar…

For now, even in 105.6, columns in DV project pivot tables are not freely sizeable (beyond minimum space needed to hold content, but when you try to play with resize, you'll not be able to get a width to accommodate all the text without wrapping, like it was by default when first dragging the visualization in the canvass).…

Hi. I saw in 105.6 these features. But the resizing working is somewhat weird, easy to shrink the row label row, but then is impossible to take it back to the original size or larger (which was the aim). Tried even with Shift & drag, to mimic shortcut used in office tables manipulation, but it doesn't work. So it seems a…

Useful and aligned with competition
-
You can do it if your DV environment is based on a subject area (RPD).
-
There are to similar features now (the "use as filter" and the action) that relates to that, but probably don't do exactly what you're looking for ...
-
It may not be so simple, but the idea (like URL to specific points within an HTML page) can be useful to avoid confusion and get the user to the page you intended.
-
It would definitely match an usual need customers have (and are used to with other tools), to filter based on an external list of items.
-
I find it would be useful, to promote consistent definition (only one copy to maintain) and expression clarity.
-
Useful. I don't know if there is a way to add comments in a calculation editor box, otherwise it would also be an option to add.
-
Absolutely, any possibility to add metadata and leverage the possibility to show mouse-over messages, is welcomed.

It's use is fairly obvious. We designed a custom home page when we put the system in maintenance, mode, but: * it need some logic DB side and a variable check when accessing OAC * for this reason, it works only for BI (/analytics), but not if a user directly access DW (/dv/ui)
