Hi,
The question mark is just the icon Oracle (or the various owners of OBIEE before Oracle) choose to represent variables.
It's just an icon, nothing else. Just like the RPD uses a cube for the business models and a cylinder for databases.

For some reason my question did not post correctly.
All of my variables have question marks in front of them. Can anyone tell me why?
