CC Feature on Eloqua Emails

Good day everyone,

Can someone from the Eloqua Oracle Product Management Team please let us know when is this feature becoming available (CC Feature on Eloqua Emails)? I believe it has been requested by few customers since 2014.

Basically, we need a feature to allow someone to be CC'ed on an Eloqua email. Alternative options to include the recipient and the person being cc'ed in the same segment is not an acceptable solution for legal or audit trail.

For example, we want to email a segment of customers. Each one of these customers is managed by an account manager, broker, sales rep...etc (person to be CC'ed). We want the email received by the customers to show the person to be CC'ed (e.g. broker or manager) in the CC field for legal audit purposes.

If you search Topliners for CC feature, you will find many customers also asking about this functionality also for legal and audit purposes.

I called the Support Team and they confirmed that there is a Feature Request in place but no ETA on it yet.

I appreciate any update on this FR.

@Ned Araji This feature is not being considered. Those who need this type of feature for legal or audit features purchase the deliverability packages that already allows for a BCC of the email.

In form processing we have a step 'send notification email'; Can we have a cc feature there?

You can already add multiple emails on "send notification email". Use a semicolon to separate email addresses.

I have to agree with Thamina, CC is not a feature that really makes sense in an email from Eloqua. I think the intent is to send to a contact in a segment but also send an email to an associated rep within the account team... seems like a great way to spam and blow up your reps inbox! Eloqua would have to send out a chain of emails using the CC field, based on a send and its just not really architected to do so.

What I have done which IS currently buildable in Eloqua today is using program builder to send an email notification to a rep that a person has taken an action... ie filled out a form - but it could be used for things like sent an email etc... to fit your use case.

You use a combination of a contact program in Program Builder, update rules for a CDO and conditional data-card services to send an email to someone OTHER than the contact using a field on the datacard. Its easy to set up and we use it on some of our renewal notification programs to trigger a notification email to the sales rep that includes a whole bunch of context for them to reach out. Its a lot prettier than an eloqua form notification and it gives you the ability to craft it with all the instructions and field merges you would want to include.
