Displaying Today's Date Dynamically in an Eloqua HTML Email

Hello Everyone,

I'm sure this has been asked a lot before but there are varying answers. And changes may have been implemented.

Other than manually changing the date on the HTML Email's code, is there a way to dynamically display the current date similar to using liquid code ( {{'now'|date:'%B %-d, %Y'}}) ?

Or is creating a field merge for this the only option?

Thanks,

Ruel

    Hi Ruel,

Thank you for reaching out to the community forum with your question.

To place the "Current Date" into a contact field you will need to use the "Date Calculator" app.

    To download the app:

    1) Login to Eloqua

    2) Settings > Apps > Get More Apps

    3) In the search box type and search: date app

    4) Click on: Oracle Date App

    5) Click on "Get App >"

Once you have downloaded the app, please add it to a campaign or program:

    1) Orchestration > Campaigns > Create a Mult-step Campaign

    2) Choose the Date Calculator from the actions

    3) Double click to configure

    4) Click on the edit pencil

    5) Choose "New Date" function (selected by default)

    6) Change the date dropdown to "current date"

    7) In the time duration use the default +0 minutes

    8) In the action "Update this field with calculated date" choose your desired contact field from the dropdown

You can then use the field as a field merge.
