Eloqua's Tip Tuesday: Pre-wire useful links directly in your Eloqua Insight Reports!

This week's tip has been shared by @CGardiner, a long time Eloqua user and currently at Sojourn Solutions, an Eloqua partner!
Did you know that you can easily design supercharged reports for your sales team in Eloqua Insight that come pre-wired to open contacts in Eloqua Profiler or hyperlink account names to open up in Google?
That’s right, you can!
With the help of Action Links, you can extend the functionality of Eloqua Insight reports and can create your own data links to open external URLs based off the data included in any given report.
Curious about how you can pre-wire these links for your sales team into your Eloqua Insight reports? Let’s dig in:
To build an action link in Insight you’re going to start by clicking gear icon next to email address icon, click properties.
Then open the Interaction tab. From the Primary Interaction drop-down list, choose Action Links. And then click +.
Now, based on what you’d like to do, you can give the link a name (for example, “View in Profiler” or “Open in Google”) and then choose the running man icon and then choose Navigate to a Web Page.
Then, based on which action you’d like to enable, you can follow these steps:
1. If you would like contacts within the report to open in Eloqua Profiler:
You would enter the necessary URL** (see specific info below to see which link you need to use!)
Which Profiler URL Should I Use
Eloqua Profiler can be integrated with your SSO logins and active sessions. Choose the link that works for you – more info here. You can pass in the email address or Eloqua contact ID into the URL:
-- > If you use contact id, the link would look like: https://login.eloqua.com/apps/salesTools/profiler?id=[elqcontactid]
-- > If you use email address, the link would look like: https://login.eloqua.com/apps/salesTools/profiler?emailAddress=[emailaddress]
Then in the Value column, choose Column Value from the drop-down. Then choose the Email Address column. Also fix up the checkboxes per the image below. This will make sure that we’re not prompting the user to enter values and instead use what is in the column.
To have the link open in a new window, click the Options box, then choose that option.
Click OK until you’re back at Column Properties. Then check “DO not display in a popup if only one action link is available at runtime”
2. You can create an Insight report with links for each Contact to open Company-specific Google searches.
Create report with Company field included, then create link as explained above on the Company field for the URL, you can add: https://www.google.com/search?q=[Company].
And that's it! And if you find that you're left asking yourself - ... but wait, can I have my cake and eat it too? Yes, in one report you can add both of these scenarios!!
