Upsert Integration Issue

I am wondering if anyone else encountered this and has a solution.

I built out an integration so data can flow from Cvent into Eloqua and then finally into Salesforce. The unique identifier and SFDC Campaign ID comes from Cvent, allowing me to be able to record event registrants within a CDO and then send that data into Salesforce using an Upsert.

The upsert is updating the Campaign Member Object within Salesforce. And for the most part, it is working great.

For reasons that I do not understand, it errors out when there are more than 40 contacts that are on the integration step. The error message claims it is a duplication error. But when I take those 40 contacts and push them through one or two at a time, no error message pops up and Salesforce is updated successfully.
