Map Large Text Fields to CRM (Microsoft Dynamics)
I'm trying to send lead data to Microsoft Dynamics. We have "Lead Comments" and "Inside Sales Comments" as Large Text contact fields in our Eloqua.
However, it looks like you can't map Large Text fields from Eloqua? They're not even an option in the CRM integration mapping area.
According to a ticket I submitted to Eloqua, it's not possible. How is that a thing? So, I can only submit regular text fields (which I believe are limited to 150 chars)? Not much detail can be passed on.
Any insight here? This seems like it would be a simple thing, even if there was just a character limit set between Eloqua and the CRM.

Hello @rmarkey ,
It is maxed at 100 chars for Eloqua standard text fields and 32,000 chars for large text fields: https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/marketing/eloqua-user/Help/DataTypes/DataTypes.htm.
What is the data type on the MS Dynamics side you are trying to map to? Could you please email me the ticket details?
Thank you,
Nathan ([email protected])

Did you get an update on this? I haven't faced the issue yet but I also have a customer with a dynamics integration so it might pop up sooner or later, if this is really not possible it really should be implemented.

I haven't found anything yet. Nathan has found some possibilities in the out of the box "Update Lead" external call where those fields become mappable, but I haven't been able to apply that to the specific pursuit request we're trying to update in Dynamics.
I've also tried creating my own "Update Lead" external call, however the large text fields always disappear when I go the do that mapping.
I've checked the configuration on the pursuit request in our Dynamics and it's a multi-line text field that is set to maximum characters, so I don't see why it wouldn't be an option.
I've even attempted to "create and map" fields right in the integration/mapping area, but "large_text" isn't an option to create. It's like it does not want you to create/map the large text.
At this point, I'm not really sure it's possible. It looks like those fields can be mapped in some instances, but not for what I'm trying to achieve.

@rmarkey Have you tried clicking the refresh source fields on the field selection and the mapping interface?

Yes, I've tried refreshing the fields and still don't get the option to map the large text.
