Master list of Hard Bounce backs

I am curious if there is a way to pull a master list of all hard bounce backs ever recorded in my instance? I want to be able to take that list and go into my CRM to capture the customer data then send to the sales reps in order to get an updated email address or delete from system.

As always, any help is much appreciated.

    @TitanMachinery, have you tried creating a Segment with Filter Criteria of Marked as Hard Bounceback (Contacts who have any hard bouncebacks as of now)?

    We use the MARKED AS A HARD BOUNCEBACK as a general exclusion on all Segments. Once every six-eight weeks, we also delete those Contacts from Eloqua and update the CRM with the same detail and we have a CRM flag to ensure those CRM Leads/Contacts don't flow back into Eloqua.

    Ok I have created a filter in one of my Segments. The "MARKED AS A HARD BOUNCEBACK" filter has 18,734 people in it. How would I delete all of these contacts from my Eloqua instance?

    The first thing I do is have a series of Segments that I use for data quality purposes only. They will never be used on a Campaign Canvas.

    I literally name these segments "DQ: Hard Bouncebacks".

    The DQ: Hard Bouncebacks segment only has one filter in it:

    You then need to export the Contacts that have Hard Bounced to Excel. In order to delete them from Eloqua, we then need to import them back into Eloqua with the import purpose being "Delete Contacts".

    This may seem like a number of extra steps, but the logic is that you can't delete contacts by accident. That's important.

    In the pop-up window, you should see the EXPORT button in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. If you don't see the button, you will need to talk to your Eloqua system administrator.

    From there, follow these instructions from the Help Centre and you're done.

    TIP: If you have a CRM integrated with Eloqua, all of the Contacts you delete will probably just return to Eloqua from the CRM within 15 minutes. As a general rule, you probably don't want to delete these Contact from the CRM.

    I did join! Super excited to broaden my knowledge and learn from experts like yourself.

    Question on this - Should I add a Filter Criteria (Marked As Hard BounceBack) to every single segment I have and make sure it is excluded? or would this be pointless?

    Welcome to the Eloqua User Group. September invites will go out next week for Wednesday 14th September 9:00 am Eastern.

    I'm a big fan of Segment Templates, this is a screen grab from our instance. Notice the highlighted template, this is the one I use when none of the others are applicable. 99.9% of the time I use a Segment Template, never a blank Segment.

    This "Base Segment - Start Here" template is essentially filled with EXCLUSIONS. Some of these are unique to us, however, some are applicable to all Eloqua clients.

    The answer to your question: Technically speaking you don't need to EXCLUDE Hard Bounces or Global Unsubscribes from your Segments because even when you activate your campaign, Eloqua won't send the emails to those Contacts.

    So, why do I exclude them from my Segments?

    ANSWER: Better Campaign Reporting.

    All Campaign Stats will look worse if, for example, I have 100,000 Contacts in my Segment and 3,000 of them are a combination of Hard Bounces or Global Unsubsribes. In reality, my Segment count should have been 97,000 Contacts. No point in having Contacts in your Segment whom you can't communicate with.
